Overview

The course will improve your skills and knowledge to:

• Distinguish Allergy v Anaphylaxis using case histories
• Identify the Epidemiology associated with Anaphylaxis
• Recognise the life-threatening signs/symptoms of anaphylaxis
• Demonstrate effective and safe Treatment of Anaphylaxis
• Discuss the follow up management of these patients
• Demonstrate drug preparation and administration

Format

• Guideline lecture based on The immunisation Guidelines for Ireland and the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) guidelines
• Case histories discussion
• Drug preparation Skill station incluidng all Auto-injectors (Epipen, Anapen, Jext, Emerade)

Accreditation

The course has been awarded

• 4 CEU's (Continuing Educational Units) by the Nurse & Midwifery Board for Ireland
• 3 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Points by the Irish College of General Practitioners (0.5 Study Days credits)
